Somewhat soothing in the wake of Wisconsin’s loss, the alma mater Cyclones got their first Big 12 win of the season after defeating the K-State Wildcats 31-20. I think all their home games should be televised on Versus, that seems to be when Iowa State performs its best.
Chris Singleton was the big stud of the game with two picks, one returned for a touchdown, but credit the whole defense for making the plays when they need to be made. The goal line stand, a rare sight in Jack Trice, was a thing of beauty.
Congrats to the Cyclones and Gene Chizik, who are now 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference. I believe that puts Iowa State in a tie with Nebraska, and how many times have we been able to make that claim?
