It took a couple days but finally our two supersized defensive linemen, Johnny Jolly and Ryan Pickett, finally passed their physicals and can join the rest of the team in practice.

I know it’s not that big of a deal since neither is a starter, but both Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy went on at length the past week about how good the off-season conditioning program was and what great shape the team was going to be in for training camp and the regular season and then right off the bat two guys fail their physical exams. It’s just one more of those things that doesn’t instill a whole lot of confidence.

Something does boost the confidence of this fan is the news that Donald Driver is finally back in the linup after being held out of practice the first couple days due to a nagging shoulder injury. He had a couple catches in the morning session today according to the Insider Blog, one of them a touchdown pass from running back Brandon Jackson. Sweet! Hopefully just one of many more to come.

To any of you heading to the old City Stadium for tonight’s practice, have a great time (how could you not) but know that I envy each and every one of you.
