The Vikings are about this tough

Before I get started here, let me send a shoutout to Peyton Manning and the rest of the Colts for that steaming pile you left on the floor of your new stadium last night. Way to go letting the Bears get off to a 1-0 start and ruining my office pool in one fell swoop. You guys stink.

But enough about that; we’re here to talk about the greatest footbal team in the world, the Green Bay Packers, who get the 2008 season started tonight at Lambeau Field. I’m feeling pretty good about our chances against the Vikings despite what a lot of media pundits are telling me, because quite frankly most of those people don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. The Packers have the best all-around offense in the division and the defense I think will step up its game against T-Jack and Purple Jebus.

This is not going to be an easy rout like last year’s 34-0 shutout, however; Green Bay will get the win but it will be a fugly one. These two teams openly despise one another and there will be a lot of personal fouls tonight. Both offenses will stutter early as they feel out the defense, and the outcome will probably hinge on a second-half turnover or special teams play, but the Packers will persevere in a close 24-20 victory.

Now go, you Packers. Go!
