Peter King Is All Up In Our Bidness Again » Brats & Beer

Does Peter King have a man-crush on a Packer not named Favre? Last week in his Postcards from the Edge of the Banquet Table, he took time to mention how impressed he was with Johnny Jolly and now today he’s advising the Indianapolis Colts to take a long look at our defensive tackle as a possible trade target.
My advice to Colts architect Bill Polian: Scout the Green Bay Packers on Saturday at Pittsburgh. Look hard at No. 97 for the Pack, Johnny Jolly. He’s a 6-foot-3, 317-pound hulk with movement, who, when I saw him last Friday, was every bit the specimen of first-round pick Justin Harrell. And the Packers might not have a spot for him in their DT rotation. Jolly was a sixth-round pick in 2006, and my guess is the Packers would take a low fourth-rounder for him.
A fourth-round pick? Jolly is starting to show signs of coming on strong here in camp and could possibly make the starting rotation, so why would the Packers part with him for just a fourth-round pick? And anyway, we need as many defensive linemen as we can hold onto. The situation with the safeties isn’t looking much better after a week of camp so keeping fresh legs up front to pressure quarterbacks is going to be a necessity this year.
