Mighty Mo To Miss Two Weeks » Brats & Beer

Looks like Mo Williams will be out of action for two weeks. The Journal Sentinel is reporting today that the Bucks backup guard will probably miss the next six games after suffering a sprained ankle in Friday’s victory over the Raptors, a game in which he scored 15 points. Williams has been scoring a little over 14 points per game this season, and he leads Milwaukee in free throw shooting, hitting 85% of his shots. What really hurts is that the injury comes just as the Bucks were starting to get healthy again: Charlie Bell is back from a knee injury and Joe Smith is expected back soon from knee surgery. Milwaukee is still in a pretty good position to make the playoffs, but they’ll need good production from both the starters and the bench to do it. The Bucks have shown themselves to be a tenacious team that rarely just gives up against better teams, so if they can get into the tourney I think they have a shot at going deep.
The paper also ran a nice treatment on Andrew Bogut’s first season of pro ball. The Bucks seem to have been bringing him along slowly the first half of the year, I hope they give him more playing time and get him more involved in the offense the rest of the way. I think he could be a big key to Milwaukee doing well in the playoffs.
