Ignited Badgers Torch Penn State » Brats & Beer

After a slow start, Wisconsin’s basketball team really turned it on in the second half to beat the Nittany Lions 82-62 yesterday. The team looked pretty sluggish in the first half, like they did during the recent 1-5 drought. But Brian Butch really stepped up to the challenge of filling the void left by Alondo Tucker, who scored just nine points. Butch dumped in 23 points and had 12 rebounds, while Kam Taylor led the team with 24 points. Best of all, the Badgers came up big on defense, playing tough inside and getting rebounds. The win puts UW back up in the top half of the Big 10 standings with 7-4 conference record, just a game back from Iowa and effectively tied with Illinois and Ohio State, the next team on the schedule. The Badgers host the Buckeyes (17-3, 6-3 Big 10) on Wednesday.
