posted under: dome stadiums suck, NFL, Vikings suck

Here’s one of those moments that makes you very happy the Green Bay Packers franchise is a publicly-owned non-profit corporation. Real estate developer Ed Roski Jr. is in the market for an NFL team to take up residence in a new stadium he is planning to build in City of Industry outside Los Angeles. According to one report, his list of potential acquisition targets includes the 49ers, the Bills, the Chargers, the Jaguars, the Raiders, the Saints, and the Vikings; Roski’s business partner thinks a deal could be done for the 2009 season.

Don’t get too excited about the idea of the Norsemen leaving the division just yet, though. Zygi Wilf apparently shunned an invitation to meet with Roski about selling a part of the Vikes, according to the North Division blog. He’s still trying to get the good folks of Minnesota to pony up some cash to build that amoeba-like biodome in Minneapolis, though I’m sure all bets are off in 2011 when the lease at the Humpty Dome runs out.
