Would You Take Keyshawn Instead? » Brats & Beer

I know there’s a fair number of Packer fans disappointed that Green Bay was unsuccessful in trading Oakland for the services of Randy Moss, but maybe the sun has peek from behind that cloud. The Carolina Panthers released Keyshawn Johnson today after drafting Dwayne Jerrett out of USC over the weekend.

Now I don’t want to start any wild panic or get ahead of myself, but this might be an interesting twist to the whole draft. It appears that Keyshawn still wants to play, and I’m betting he’d like to play for a quarterback a notch better than Jake Delome. He was fairly productive last year (815 yards, four touchdowns) and might not demand a whole lot since he’s said he only wants to play another two seasons. And those Give Me the Damn Ball Days seem to be behind him.

I wonder if Ted Thompson is taking any long distance calls from Mississippi right about now.
