Making their first Division III championship appearance in almost 40 years, Wisconsin-Whitewater fell short against Mount Union, 28-35. The Purple Radiers played tough defense to turn away the Warhawks on five possessions in Mount Union territory after scoring on their opening drive. Wisconsin-Whitewater rallied in the fourth quarter to score 21 points but the effort was too little and too late.
