It’s official, the Minnesota Vikings have hired Brad Childress as their new head coach. The decision came quickly (so quickly, in fact, that he cancelled a planned interview in Green Bay) after the team interviewed just a couple other coaches for the job. According to Mr. Critic at ‘Nietzsche or Nitschke?’, though, the early hype on the Eagles’ offensive coordinator was just that, considering the control Andy Reid held over the Philly offense. Well, we’ll get plenty of chances to see what we missed out on when the Packers go up against Capt. Stubing and his Love Boat crew twice a year for the next couple seasons. Ahoy!
Update: In the wake of Childress’ departure for the Twin Cities, the Eagles have promoted Marty Mornhinweg, the Scooter McLean of Detroit, to be offensive coordinator. Ho ho!
