A word of warning to all Brett Favre haters out there: The clock is officially ticking as we await word from The World’s Most Famous John Deere whether No. 4 will retire or return for another season of football. Yes, you will be treated to weekly if not daily mention of the three-time MVP on ESPN over the course of the next few months and FOX will probably talk about it each and every hour of the Super Bowl pre-game show. Get used to it. We have.

Actually, I can’t stand the deathwatch-like reporting on Favre that the WWL drops into SportsCenter during the off-season just as much as everyone else. But the thing I hate even worse is hearing the haters whine and moan about the coverage.

I suggest we all follow the off-season pledge from CheeseheadTV: “Let’s all agree that Brett Favre can take all the time he wants to decide whether or not he wants to come back.”
