The New Three Amigos » Brats & Beer

At the start of the 2008 NFL Draft, it was still up in the air as to whether Ted Thomspon would take even one QB, but here it is at the end of the second day and the Packers have two new recruits. So long, Jerry Babb and Dalton Bell, it was nice knowing you.

Aaron Rodgers will be joined by Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn, both in their own ways having shared some of the national spotlight during their college careers. Brohm has a football pedigree and could have been an early first round pick had he decided to come out last year, and Flynn is fresh off a BCS national championship campaign at LSU. It will be interesting to see how these three get along at camp and during the season, or if their egos will all fit within the bowl of Lambeau Field.

You have to hand it to TT though, Brohm was a steal late in the second round and should make for a good backup, and Flynn could be a great project over the next couple seasons. One of those two (probably Flynn initially) will surely become trade bait for future draft picks, a page right out of the Ron Wolf playbook. Until then I’ll enjoy watching the Three Amigos come into their own in Green Bay.
