The Door Closes Again For ISU » Brats & Beer

With a chance to win the Big 12 North Division crown, the Cyclones football team melted and withered away on the road against Kansas. God, how depressing. They were in command of that game with a 14-3 lead at halftime. It looked like a lock. But then the offense went stone cold in the third quarter and KU came back to tie the score. You knew what was going to happen then, just look at last year when ISU lost the title in overtime to Colorado.

Me thinks maybe coach McCarney has trouble with the big game. I mean, that team did not look like the same one that won four straight. The offensive line could not block to save its skin, the running game was non-existent, and the defense seemed to wither away as the game progressed. It’s just frustrating to watch a team go down like that. I know everyone is probably thinking, “Well, what chance would they have had against UT in the championship?” but it would have been nice to have found out.
