The Bonecrushers Are Splintering » Brats & Beer

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of indoor football. The whole concept seems to be missing an important ingredient for exciting football — playing outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather. That said, I can’t help but wonder what in the world is happening with the Milwaukee Bonecrushers.

According to what little information is out there right now, Bonecrushers head coach and former Packer great Gilbert Brown resigned from the team after an 0-3 start, as has the general manager and two of Brown’s assistants. The WTMJ story says the resignations were due to irreconcilable differences with the team’s management. That sort of mad dash for the door doesn’t sound like differences, it sounds like mutiny.

Short of the team not being able to meet payroll, I can’t imagine what could have led to such a dramatic evacuation. And the team seems to have been right on top of this, because the official web site has already been updated with Brown’s name removed and the new head coach listed. Thankfully, the dance team coordinator agreed to stay on, at least for now.
