Ted Thompson » Brats & Beer

Michael Lombardi is a smart football guy, but I don’t think he knows Ted Thompson or Mike McCarthy all that well. In his Morning Diner News column today at The National Football Post, Lombardi addresses the tight end situation in Green Bay — using Jason Wilde’s story from yesterday about Evan Moore as a jumping […]

Remember back to those heady days of spring when Brett Favre retired and we thought he would stay retired? Ah, those were good times. But there was also the question of whether or not the Packers should be in the market for a veteran QB to back up Aaron Rodgers during his first year as […]

After a couple glasses of scotch, some good Italian red wine, and several beers last night, I hoped that I would wake up today to find some glimmer of hope in today’s news that the Packers would be able to resolve this situation with Brett Favre in an amicable way. Lori Nickle at the Journal […]

Every year when the NFL Draft rolls around I question the wisdom of actually following the action in real time. I mean I could just get out of the house and do something — I dunno, productive — and then check out the news later to get the lowdown on what happened. But then there […]

So I’ll admit, when I read that Daunte Culpepper was in Green Bay to visit the team I was at first horrified. No way do we want this guy on the Packers. He’s broken down, washed up, and he does that terrible arm roll thing. Certainly Ted Thompson could do better than that.

Thankfully now those two are off the market and we can’t stop worrying about […]

Pardon my French, but the first wave of angry outburst is already happening.
Tom Silverstein has posted on the JS Packers Blog some quotes from Brett Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, who says he thinks Favre wanted to play one more season but got the idea that the Packers — Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy — didn’t […]

Ted Thompson so far in free agency has been sending out feelers to mostly defensive players, but it sounds like he might finally be showing some interest in the offense. The Journal Sentinel is reporting today that Green Bay has some interest in tight end Kris Wilson, most recently with the Kansas City Chiefs.
What’s interesting […]

The rumor mill grinds on.
Andy at packergeeks makes an intriguing proposal that Ted Thompson should make a play for running back Warrick Dunn, who was released today from the Falcons. Dunn would be starting his 12th NFL season, which might not sound too enticing to TT, but for the right price it could be a […]
