Robinson Reinstated » Brats & Beer

Troubled wide receiver Koren Robinson is back in the NFL after being reinstated by the league yesterday. Still under contract to the Packers, he’ll be reporting to Green Bay to get evaluated and then have a few weeks to practice before the team has to make a decision to either keep him or cut him.

Frankly, at the start of the season I didn’t think Robinson would be back at all. I figured either his reinstatement would be held up by the NFL and its new “get tough” policy on substance abuse, or that the Packers just wouldn’t have a roster spot for him. But with Will Blackmon perpetually out with injuries, I bet they try to work him into a special teams roll if he can get into playing shape quickly. Which means the team will either put Blackmon on IR or cut Shaun Bodiford.

It might be better, though, if Mike McCarthy tries to bulk him up and convert Robinson into a tight end considering Bubba Franks will be out the next few weeks with a knee injury.
