Pro-Bowl Voting Must’ve Been Rigged » Brats & Beer

I’m sure you’ve heard the NFL Pro-Bowl ballots have been tallied and rosters announced. Most of the usual suspects are going, but not all. Brett Favre isn’t. Ahman Green isn’t. In fact, no Packer player was voted in this year. None. Guess that shouldn’t shock anyone, but still it’s a surprising reminder of how bad this year was. I mean, the Lions stink and Shaun Rogers still got voted in.

Four Green Bay players were chosen as alternates, including William Henderson. More than Favre and more than the injured players who had their seasons cut short, I feel bad for Henderson this year. It might be his last as a pro and he’ll have to go out on this note. For my money, he’s been the best all-around fullback in the league over the past five seasons if not the past decade. He’s big, he’s strong, he can lay people out with a punishing block, but the dude can also move the ball when you ask him to. I love it when he hurdles defensive players trying to dive for his legs. Big guys shouldn’t be able to move like that. He’s been one of the key elements of Green Bay’s success the past few years, but he gets almost no recognition and never calls attention to himself. Class act. I’m hoping that Mack Strong of Seattle will decide he doesn’t want to go to Hawaii.
