Preseason Poll Is Out: Bring On The Haters » Brats & Beer

The 2007 USA TODAY coaches pre-season poll came out today, so I guess that means college football is really underway now. Low and behold the Wisconsin Badgers got a little love from the pollsters and placed seventh in the rankings, behind Michigan but ahead of Ohio State. Bring on the haters and the non-believers with their mantra of “overrated.”
Actually, Wisconsin Badger Sports points out that over the past dozen years the Badgers have been ranked in the top 20 five times and gone to a bowl game each of those years, but in only two of those seasons have they managed to win 10 or more games. So good omen or bad? I’m not sure you can show any real cause and effect because there are way too many variables that come into play during a season and who the heck knows what ju-ju or magic beans they use to come up with a pre-season poll.
Just bring on the start of the season and then we’ll talk about how good the Badgers are.
