So close yet so far. The Packers lost to the Titans 23-21 in their pre-season finale, but then again Green Bay is 2-5 in final exhibition action against Tennessee so the final score matters very little. What does matter is how the players played, who will make the squad based on their efforts in the […]

That’s how Ted Thompson summed up the Packers performance last night after beating the Denver Broncos on the road 27-24, and I find myself in agreement: The good and bad elements of the third pre-season game closely offset one another, leaving me feeling lukewarm about the team as a whole.
The #1 offense was vastly improved […]

There are some exhortations out there, specifically from the Journal-Sentinel and Jay Sorgi at WTMJ, that tonight’s game in Denver is a must-win situation for the Packers. It would be great to come away with a victory, but no pre-season game is a must-win. It is imperative, however, that Green Bay’s #1 offense and defense […]

I’ve taken two showers already this morning and I still can’t seem to get the stink off from last night. And it has only gotten worse after reading reports on the game from Bob McGinn and Jason Wilde and having watched some of the “highlights” posted at NFL.com. So how did the Packers go from […]

Remember how happy we all were Monday night when the Packers looked halfway decent in their pre-season debut? Well, this is how it feels when they look nowhere even close to decent. Green Bay didn’t just get beat by San Francisco, they were crushed, blown up, and embarrassed in a 34-6 loss. About the only […]

In addition to these 10 things YOU REALLY, REALLY NEED TO WATCH FOR during tonight’s pre-season game between Green Bay and San Francisco, the National Football Post has five more things YOU HAD BETTER WATCH FOR BECAUSE THERE WILL BE A QUIZ AFTERWARDS. Actually, Michael Lombardi has come up with five things to watch for […]

We’re not very many hours removed from the first pre-season game of the Rodgers era, but it never too soon to get ready for Saturday’s game in San Francisco. To get everyone in the mood, those madcap masters of multimedia at Packer Palace have put together another classic video celebrating the Summer of Love […]

Has the sun come out again over Packer Nation today? Let’s call the forecast mostly sunny with periods of nagging doubt after Green Bay’s first pre-season game. The Packers definitely have room for improvement before beginning this year’s campaign to defend their NFC North Division title, but the team showed last night a lot of […]

Two defenders. Blam-o! No helmet, 30-yard touchdown. No that is Packers football!
Overall, the first team offense showed some rust and some jitters, but once they got going it looked pretty good. Aaron Rogers appeared in command and made good decisions, his one interception coming on a pass that Chris Francies couldn’t hang onto.

1. Pre-game warm up. This pre-season game will be our first chance to see how Aaron Rodgers responds as a starter in the NFL, so be sure to get a good base with a proper lunch for all the drinking tonight. You might also want to have some pre-game snacks (summer sausage, cheese and crackers, […]
