This weekend #1 Ohio State plays #2 Michigan in the biggest college football game of the year. Who will win? To find out what the experts think, I’ve invited noted ESPN commentator Lee Corso to debate the outcome with a potted plant.
The potted plant says: The Ohio State – Michigan rivalry is one of the biggest in the Big 10 conference and a grand tradition in college football spanning back to 1897. The Wolverines dominated the series in the early part of coach Lloyd Carr’s career, but since Jim Tressel arrived in Columbus the Buckeyes have won four of their five meetings. And what a season Ohio State is having this year. The Buckeyes are ranked eighth in the country in scoring behind Troy Smith, who has thrown for almost 2,200 yards and 26 touchdowns. And don’t forget Ohio State’s running attack led by Antonio Pittman, who has gained 1,032 yards and scored 12 times. But the real power of this team is the defense, which leads the country in scoring (7.8 points/game) and interceptions (22). Michigan has a lot of talent and has put up some impressive numbers, but the Wolverines will find it tough sledding against this Buckeye defense. Ohio State is a lock to win.
Lee Corso says: Blah blah blah, Michigan blah blah! Blah blah Ched Henne blah. Wolverines blah Mike Hart blah blah, blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah, Super Mario blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah. Woo hoo! Blah blah blah Lloyd Carr blah blah, blah blah blah Henne blah blah blah. Blah blah! Super Mario! Henne! Hart! Blah blah blah! (puts on Wolverines mascot head) Michigan! Yeah!
