Oh My, Ohio! » Brats & Beer

Way to go, Ohio State. So, should we have that debate again about why it should have been Michigan vs. Buckeyes for the mythical national championship? Looks like they should have been playing for bragging rights in the Choke Bowl.

I not really sure what to make of the meltdown tonight in Glendale, though congrats are in order I suppose for a Florida Gators team I gave no chance to win this game. That was a heck of a performance by that defense to shut down Troy Smith. It seriously didn’t look like Tressel had any clue how to attack that front four (and sometimes front seven or eight). It didn’t help that Ted Ginn was out of the game, but still I would have expected the great Ohio State offense to generate more than 74 freaking yards.

With the Buckeyes down and out and Michigan proving once again what great choke artists they can be, I say Wisconsin — the highest ranked Big 10 team to win a bowl game this year — earns the class of the conference for 2006. We’ll have to see how the polls come out, but I’d bump the Badgers up to No. 4 and drop the Wolverines No. 6 or No. 7. But then that’s just me.

UPDATE: The pollsters did not agree with me and dropped Wisconsin to No. 7. Bastards!
