Awards season is upon us, and I’m not talking about last week’s Grammys or the upcoming Oscars. The good folks at Cheesehead TV are handing out awards for the best Packer bloggers and I am honored, humbled, and somewhat astonished to say that this here Brats & Beer site is among the four nominees.

My initial reaction to hearing this news was, “Someone actually reads my empty-headed dribble?” And then I thought that maybe it was a joke or that they had mistaken this blog for another, more deserving site. But Cheesehead Corey sent me a very official-looking letter informing me that I had in fact been nominated for a Titletown Award.

All self-deprecating humor aside, I am genuinely honored to be recognized by what I consider to be one of the best Packer blogs out there. Not only that, but to be included in such esteemed company as the insightful packergeeks, the voluminous Railbird Central, and the Grand Poobah of all Packer fan sites, Packer Palace.

But I’ll spare you the nonsense about it being good enough just to be nominated. There’s pride on the line here, immortal fame, and prizes. I’m not ashamed to admit it: I want to win prizes, dammit! I’m a man of very little means, but whatever kind of bribery persuasion it takes to win, you just let me know, Corey.
