The video screen at Lambeau Field flashed a shot of Mike McCarthy just after Brett Favre coughed up the ball in the red zone to end the 23-20 loss to the Rams, and according to the Press-Gazette’s Game Day Blog the Packers head coach appeared to say, “You have got to be kidding me.” No, we’re not kidding.

Donald Driver had just three catches for 24 yards and maybe just as many drops. We’re not kidding. Favre and his receivers are so not on the same page right now, they’re at completely different reading levels.

Noah Herron scored on a one-yard run, the first rushing touchdown of the season for Green Bay. We’re not kidding.

The Rams committed 10 penalties, including four that gave Green Bay first downs, and still the Packers couldn’t capitalize. We’re not kidding.

The defense for the second week in a row got caught with just 10 men on the field and once had 12 players defending but the Rams still gained 17 yards. We’re not kidding.

Also for the second week in a row, the secondary came away without a single interception. We’re not kidding.

Al Harris had a ball thrown right to him and dropped the pass, an interception he could possibly have returned all the way for six points. We’re not kidding.

Jon Ryan punted the ball 39 yards and the Rams returned the kick 28 yards. We’re not kidding.

The Green Bay Packers are a lowly 1-4 and would be in the basement of the NFC if not for the thankless, bang-up job Matt Millen is doing in Detroit. We’re not kidding.
All kidding aside, I am so thankful for the bye coming this week. At least this Sunday won’t be marred by another Packer loss.
