posted under: Bucks, David Noel, NBA Draft, new logo
Unveiled tonight at the start of the NBA Draft, here is the new Milwaukee Bucks logo. As predicted by many, the team is going back to the green and red “Christmas” scheme of the late 1960s, though a statement released by management says that the new red is “more sophisticated” than the one first used by the team, whatever that means. I think it’s great, though. The purple is gone, the logo looks solid, the draft caps are cool, all we need now is to see how the uniforms will look with these colors. New unis should be released later this summer.
If you’re heading to Summerfest in Milwaukee, you can pick up new Bucks gear at the Sports Zone. (You know you’ll need a new shirt about halfway through a day of sweating and drinking.) Mo Williams and Charlie Bell will be holding court there for several days and the Energee! Dance Team will be performing.
Speaking of the draft, the Bucks chose David Noel, a 6-6 forward out of North Carolina, with the 39th overall pick. He played four seasons with the Tar Heels and led the team in scoring his senior year with a 12.9 PPG average. Looks like he might be a solid player. Steve Novak from Marquette went to the Houston Rockets, meanwhile, with the 32nd pick overall.
