Minnesota Needs Gus Frerotte » Brats & Beer

Quinn Gray signed with the Houston Texans yesterday, which leaves Gus Frerotte as the only free agent quarterback left on the market who has visited the Green Bay Packers. I’ll admit it, I am officially scared right now.

Frerotte has also visited with the Minnesota Vikings, though, so let me make an impassioned plea to Zygmunt Wilf: You need to sign Gus Frerotte. Your Vikings have a long and proud history of suiting up retread quarterbacks just like Frerotte, and Tavaris Jackson needs that kind of veteran “experience” in the locker room. Best of all, Frerotte already knows his way around Minneapolis and the Humpty Dome — heck you probably still have his old jersey somewhere in the storage room.

Just get it done, Zygi. Offer Frerotte a two-year deal before Ted Thompson can make a foolish mistake. Please.
