Looking Ahead To Badgers vs. Aztecs » Brats & Beer

The UW Badgers are 2-0 and looking to extend their winning streak this weekend against the San Diego State Aztecs. Last week Wisconsin played a pretty sloppy game again Western Illinois, struggling with turnovers and penalties in what should have been a total romp, so hopefully they can work out some of those issues tomorrow against SDSU before heading up to Ann Arbor for the Big 10 opener next week.

San Diego shouldn’t be too much of problem for the Badgers. Their starting quarterback is out with a thumb injury, meaning sophomore Darren Mougey will be the signal caller for the Aztecs on Saturday. He played in just six games last year but led three scoring drives in a losing effort against UTEP two weeks ago; the Wisconsin defense should be able to pile up some stats against this guy. San Diego’s running game averaged just 2.4 yards per play against UTEP, a team that gave up 5.7 yards a play against Texas Tech. Plus, the Aztecs are coached by former Iowa quarterback Chuck Long, so right there you know SDSU is in trouble.

UW is a two touchdown favorite in this game, but it really should be a bigger blowout. I’ll say UW wins 35-6. Go Badgers!
