It’s About To Get Drafty » Brats & Beer

For the most part this Spring I have avoided making predictions about the draft because honestly I don’t have a clue what’s going to happen. And unlike two years ago when I was excited about the prospect of Ted Thompson picking AJ Hawk, I just don’t have any early favorites this year. That’s why I’m glad there are people smarter than me writing up great posts on the draft so I’ll have something to work from tomorrow.

Packergeeks has a good rundown of top prospects with some excellent analysis on each player. I find little to argue with in that post and best of all my computer monitor didn’t get smeared with any Mel Kiper hair gel. I plan to have this page open on the laptop tomorrow as the first round progresses.

One thing sfhayes brings up at the top of the post is the idea that TT might trade down with Atlanta in the first round, an idea that I also read today at the WTMJ site. Jay Sorgi proposes that the Falcons might want to make a deal with the Packers for the #30 pick to get QB Brian Brohm, though he of the Milwaukee radio goodness thinks that TT might be able to get two of Atlanta’s three second-round picks. I’ll admit it sounds a little unlikely, but if that situation unfolded, TT would than have four second rounders to play with. I could maybe get behind that plan as well.

We’re less than 24 hours from the start of the show, so let us all pray tonight before bed that TT does right by the team and we can all be excited about the new names on the roster at the end of the weekend. It looks like Green Bay Railbird Central will be live blogging from the festivities at Lambeau Field so be sure to check it out while you’re watching the talking heads on ESPN or NFL Network. Oh, I’m sure I’ll add my two cents here after the first pick if anyone’s interested.

Have a great draft eve and go Pack go!
