Time out! Time out! Call time out!

It has been well over 24 hours since anyone chartered a plane, ruled on reinstatement, extended or accepted a bribe personal services contract offer, or sent a text message to Ed Werder. All the parties involved — the Packers, Brett Favre, and Roger Goodell — have apparently agreed to put the unretirement drama on hiatus through the weekend so the league can hold its Hall of Fame induction without interruption.

While I respect that decision, at the same time I’m still on the edge of my seat here. I can’t eat, can’t sleep, and my fingers are bloody from clicking through my bookmarks looking for some morsel of news. The status quo does not sell newspapers, people; stasis does not drive traffic to blogs.

And speaking of text messages, what is up with Favre and all his texting? A year ago he could barely work an iPod.
