Five Reasons The Packers Should Beat Miami » Brats & Beer

1. The Dolphins offensive line sucks worse than Green Bay’s – If you give Joey Harrington all the time in the world he can tear up a secondary. He messed up a couple Thanksgivings for us Packer fans when he was in Detroit doing just that. But Miami’s offensive line is horrible and I expect to see a couple sacks at least and more than a couple turnovers.
2. Miami can’t run the ball – The Dolphins are averaging about 90 yards a game rushing and Green Bay’s defense has been doing a god job stuffing the run. That should force Harrington to throw more, allowing the Packers to concentrate on the pass rush.
3. Greg Jennings, super stud – Miami’s secondary, their whole defense in fact, are all card carrying members of the AARP, so Jennings should be able to rip off a few big plays, maybe even one for a touchdown. He better, because he’s Green Bay’s most potent weapon at this point. Miami knows this, of course, so they’ll double and triple team him most of the day, so someone else should be able to get open, right?
4. The Atlanta game last year – Okay, I’m reaching here, but no one expected the Packers to win on the road against the Falcons last year and no one really expects them to win on the road in Miami. The Packers had one win then, they have one win now. Hey, it gives me hope anyway.
5. They have to – The Packers are 1-4, so yes they have to start winning. The last two weeks, I certainly hope Mike McCarthy has drilled that idea into their heads. Plus, a win this weekend opens the door to the chance that Green Bay could be 4-4 by the time they have to travel to the Humpy Dome. So let me say it again, the Packers have to win tomorrow.
