Chicago Is No Beer Town » Brats & Beer

It’s bad enough to read the Chicago Tribune lobbying hard for the Bears to try and steal Brett Favre if he indeed does come out of retirement and is granted a release from his contract by the Green Bay Packers (which will never happen), but the Windy City has already stolen something precious from Wisconsin: Miller is moving to Chicago.
Now I can understand the corporate logic of choosing a “neutral” site for the new headquarters of MillerCoors, so as not to show favoritism to one side or the other in the joint venture, but Lordy sakes Milwaukee is 100 times the beer town that Chicago is. If you have an insurance company, a bank, or a crappy-assed football team, then by all means make your home in Chicago, but you make beer then you should be in a place that understands beer and has a long and storied history in the brewing industry. Just sayin’.
Sadder still, as part of the restructuring MillerCoors is retooling the Miller plant in Milwaukee to produce Coors. Blech.
