Can The Badgers Win In The Big House? » Brats & Beer

There seems to be a bit of concern and consternation — nearly bordering on hysteria and panic — out there in Badgerland with this weekend’s game against Michigan looming larger. Wisconsin has not fared well at the Big House (winless since 1994) so I guess it’s understandable, but I feel good about UW’s chances on Saturday.

It is true that the 3-0 Badgers have not played nearly perfectly. The defense gave up a bunch of yards to a mobile quarterback in the first game, the next week was marred by penalties and turnovers, and then last week the offense didn’t come to life until the end of the game. But now that every part of the team has had a chance to struggle, I think this is the week that everything comes together.

If the defense plays like it showed last week, they should be able to slow Michigan down enough for the offense to keep pace. The key here is that UW needs to strike quickly at the beginning and not give up the momentum. It’s going to be a close game to be sure, a back-and-forth pitched battle, but if Coach Bielema can get those guys believing in themselves and they play 60 minutes of football, I think the Badgers can be right in the game until the end and come out on top.

Go Badgers!
