Calling Tim Gunn: I’m Not A Fan OF The New Badgers Look » Brats & Beer

With one win under their belt and a promising season ahead, it’s going to sound petty for me to say this, but I don’t like the new home uniforms the Badgers are sporting this year.

Head coach Brett Bielema made the decision before the season opener to dress his squad in red jerseys with red pants for their home games rather than the traditional white pants they’ve worn for like forever. I’ve just never been a fan of the monochrome look that seems to be the fad these days.

To be fair, Wisconsin’s red with white trim is better than most, but something about it just doesn’t look right. Even Barry Alvarez said on TV he thought the Badgers looked like a team from the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the decision to change the look was inspired by the players themselves. Since they seem to like it I guess I shouldn’t disagree all that much, but I still will. Hopefully after they’ve had some fun experimenting with fashion, the players will come to their senses and change back to the traditional colors.
