Bucks Blow It At The Buzzer » Brats & Beer

Once again, Milwaukee got burned by playing down to their opponents. The Bucks lost a tight game last night when David West hit a jumper just before the buzzer to give the NO/OKC Hornets a 94-93 victory. Worse yet, West made the shot against Jamaal Magloire, who was dealt to Milwaukee from the Hornets after last year. Magloire did make the previous shot that put the Bucks ahead but missed an ensuing free throw that could have sealed a Milwaukee victory. The Bucks have been making their living playing and winning close games this year, and it’s great when Michael Redd or Bobby Simmons can step up to take charge of those games, but when someone else blows their assignments or doesn’t come through in the clutch, it’s all just a big waste. From the AP report, Magloire was doing a lot of trash talking against his former team, so maybe he needs to shut his yap and concentrate on guarding his man.

Redd did have a good game last night, scoring 32, and TJ Ford added 16 points. Milwaukee got very little from their bench, though, and gave up 17 points off turnovers. Dropping to 23-21 on the season, the Bucks travel to Houston tomorrow night to face the 15-29 Rockets.
