Rookie camp opened in Green Bay today, our first chance to see what Ted Thompson netted in the NFL Draft and from the pool of rookie free agents. So what did we learn? Not a whole lot, except that Mike McCarthy is a happy guy: He’s “happy with our draft picks,” “happy with everyone,” and […]

As painful as it is for me to say, the obnoxious and annoying Peter King wrote something in his column today that I actually though made some sense.
Commenting on Brett Favre’s appearance on Letterman last week, everyone’s favorite Starbucks shill says, “Sometimes we try to turn things into Favreisms. Too many things. The best thing […]

The Journal Sentinel reports this afternoon on its blog the Packers have placed Brett Favre on the reserve/retired list. This clears an extra roster space and salary cap room just before the draft. Despite whatever coy replies Favre may give to questions from here on out, and despite the fact he has yet to file […]
Pretty good performance by Brett Favre on Letterman last night. He told a funny story about going bow hunting before a Bears game, he got a chance to reiterate that he is retired and no it had nothing to do with Randy Moss, and he had a little fun with everyone when Dave tried to […]

Team president Mark Murphy says […]

The NFL Draft can’t come soon enough, if for no other reason than to give the nation’s sports scribes something other than Brett Favre to write about. It would help too if he would stop granting interviews.
What’s really funny about #4 is that at his core he has the ability to commit himself passionately and […]

As you’ve no doubt read elsewhere already, the Los Angeles Times yesterday reported that Brett Favre is thinking about returning to the NFL after his tearful retirement press conference last month. The article said “NFL sources” confirm Favre has talked to some other teams about trading the Packers for his services.
Was it really that slow […]

I’m a little bit late with this, but Mike Cade has an excellent Brett Favre post at Transmissions from Grudge Harbor. It’s worth the read if for no other reason than it has the best title ever: Hell Bent 4 Leather
Big props, mixed with feelings of envy.
