Badgers Did Not Follow The Plan » Brats & Beer

Realizing that I hadn’t posted anything here in a long while, I decided that my plan would be to wait until after today’s Wisconsin-Ohio State game. That way, I figured, I could ramble on about how the Badgers were No. 1 once again and on track to win the Big 10 regular season. Well, they apparently didn’t get that memo, because Wisconsin took it on the chin with a 49-48 loss in Columbus.
It was a tough loss, too, because they really did a good job staying with the Buckeyes, keeping themselves in the game, and looked like they were going to hang on for the win there at the end. But Kam Taylor missed a late free throw attempt that could have put the Badgers up to stay and it was Ohio State coming away with the win.
Tough too because Brian Butch took a nasty fall in the first half and looked like he dislocated his elbow. It looked serious enough, he could be out of the lineup for an extended period of time, maybe the rest of the season.
I have to say, Ohio State played a good game, but Greg Oden seriously is not all that. Out on the court he looks like a Great Dane puppy: Clumsy and too big for his body. Sure he can make plays, and likely he’ll be great by his senior year, but let’s not go proclaiming him the next Kareem or anything just yet.
Despite the loss, I still have great hopes for the Badgers going into the Big 10 tournament. Likely they will meet up with the Buckeyes again in the final round playing for the title, and I think then it could be Bucky coming away with the win.
I hope so, anyway.
