Badgers Bowl Bound, But Where? » Brats & Beer

Congrats to JoePa and the Nittany Lions for winning the Big 10 title and a BCS bid. Obviously, it would have been better to see coach Alvarez get another conference championship in his last season, but things don’t always turn out the way they should (see also: Green Bay’s season). So, Penn State will likely be playing in either the Orange Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl, but where will our hardy Badgers be playing in December? With Ohio State getting an at-large BCS bid and assuming Wisconsin brings home a victory from their holiday in Hawaii this weekend, they should be playing in the Capital One Bowl against the SEC #2 team, maybe Georgia or Auburn. A loss to the Warriors, though, would send the Badgers tumbling to a fifth-place finish in the Big 10, given their losses to Northwestern and Iowa, which might mean a trip to the Alamo Bowl where Wisconsin beat Colorado in 2002. In which case, the possibility exists (however slight) that the Badgers could be playing the Cyclones on Dec. 28, leaving BratsNBeerGuy quite conflicted (but happily so). We’ll have to wait and see how the cards play out over Thanksgiving.
