A Desperate Plea: Please Stop Hurting Our Packers » Brats & Beer

Fourth-round draft pick Brady Poppinga became the latest casualty in this season riddled with injuries. The rookie linebacker, making his first NFL start, suffered a torn ACL while covering on a kick off against Detroit and will require reconstructive surgery. With an estimated recovery time of eight to 12 months, young Poppinga will probably miss training camp next year. In the short term for the defense, that means Diggs will probably be back in the starting lineup with rookie Roy Manning behind him. Longer term, well, who knows. I guess it’ll depend on how fast Poppinga heals and who else gets hurt between now and the Jan. 2 season finale. Let’s hope the injury gremlins keep away for three weeks.
