The Wisconsin men’s basketball team fell to Wake Forest tonight 91-88 despite a valiant run to catch the Demon Deacons in the final minutes. Tucker had 23 points and Butch added 19 and 10 rebounds, but Wake Forest met little resistance on the defensive court. Justin Gray hit a career-high 37 points, followed by Eric […]
The Milwaukee Admirals knocked off the division-leading Houston Aeros 3-0 in AHL action the other night. The Admirals have won 11 of 13 after opening the season with four loses and are now tied for third in the West Division with the Peoria Rivermen.
I just love the AHL and its mix of old school and […]
Looks like the powers that be at ISU have decided to lift prohibition during Veishea. The annual Spring celebration has been a dry event since 1998 due to rioting and vandalism that has occasionally broken out and was cancelled this past year in response to a disturbance in 2004.
I know this might date me, but […]

I’ve run out of things to say about the Packers’ loss yesterday, so here’s a sampling of comments from other blogs:
Whatever Sherman is doing at halftime for adjustments is atrocious. He is simply being outcoached by the opposing defensive coordinator. His offense is not giving the defense a chance. Given the above numbers, it’s frankly […]

A shout out to the Marquette men’s basketball team, who advanced to 4-1 on the season after besting South Carolina 92-89 in overtime on Saturday night to win the Great Alaska Shootout. Ryan Amoroso scored 30 and Steve Novak added 28 while earning Most Outstanding Player honors for the tourney. Good job, yon Jesuits.
Just when you think it can’t get any worse, you turn on the Packers game and find out it can. I swear they have found all kinds of new and improved ways to lose this season, from turnovers to defensive meltdowns to offensive miscues to special teams gaffes. What next? This afternoon it turned out […]
It has been almost a week and all the feasting has helped soothe the wounds from last Monday’s disappointment. Green Bay travels to Philly today with a chance to score another big upset. The Iggles are down in the dumps and fractured in the locker room and the Packers are looking to rebound after their […]
Wisconsin advanced to 4-0 yesterday with a 92-54 win over Coastal Carolina. I have no idea who Coastal Carolina is (I can only guess they came from North or South Carolina for a chance to get whupped up on), but a win is a win. Taylor led with 20 points and Butch added 17 and […]
With a chance to win the Big 12 North Division crown, the Cyclones football team melted and withered away on the road against Kansas. God, how depressing. They were in command of that game with a 14-3 lead at halftime. It looked like a lock. But then the offense went stone cold in the third […]

Nice game for Wisconsin winning 41-24 over Hawaii on the road. OK, the competition wasn’t all that tough, but it was a great performance on both sides of the ball. Calhoun had 149 yards and a touchdown, Stocco threw for two TDs and 191 yards, and the defense came up with two turnovers and five […]
